A Day in the Clouds

Well there were actually three Days in the clouds! :)

I am so very proud of my husband.  Our flight to pick up Andrew was nothing short of amazing!

Leaving BR we flew through a few storm cells with heavy rain, so things were a little bumpy.  But once we were above the clouds we were navigating nothing but blue skies.  The drive to Lebanon, TN is about 8-9 hours but flying only took us 3.  It's going to be so great to be able to jump on a plane and see our little boy in 3 hours compared to 8.  And when we're meeting in Meridian, the flight is only a little over an hour.  We would do just about anything to shorten the distance between us and Andrew, and Drew getting his pilots license is definitely going to make things easier on us and more importantly on Andrew.  No more spending all day in a car.  We'll do whatever we can to minimize travel time and maximize our quality time together!

Our flights together are going to be trips that Andrew never forgets.  I mean how many 6 year olds do you know whose Dad scoops them up in an airplane?!  And he did GREAT!  He was a little nervous at first but once he had his headset on, his toy plane in hand, blew a few goodbye kisses to his mom and step-dad...then before we were even off the ground he was spouting off pretend tail numbers through the microphone!  He had us rolling, Drew was laughing so hard he could hardly talk to the Nashville tower. :)

 Pilot Daddy Day-o

 Bye-bye Lebanon!

"Wow!  I didn't know we could fly above the sky!"

We were really just above the clouds, but Andrew thought it was incredible!
"Jesus lives up here right, are we going to see him?"

How can anything compete with this?

My Bud held my hand the whole time, well until he fell asleep. :)

"Goodnight Sun."
As soon has the sun dropped below the horizon our little man was out like a light....

 Welcome home Bud-a-Roo!

Andrew asked tons of questions about the sky, flying, the sun.  He would listen to the towers talking to us and other planes then ask 100 more questions.  This experience plus all the ones to come will be forever embedded into Andrew's memory bank, and as he gets older he's only going to appreciate these trips, and his Daddy, even more.  Like I've said 1,000 times I'm so proud of Drew, he is going to be able to teach Andrew so much about so many things. Things that will last a lifetime.
