Summer Lovin'

ANDREW IS HOME!!

It's been a long time since I've looked forward to the season of Summer.  Most of the time I look forward to Fall for its cool mornings and some relief from the Louisiana heat or I look forward to Spring to bring some color back into my Winterized world.  But for the first time since college, I have been looking forward to Summer all....year....long!  I can already tell that this Summer, and many Summers come, are going to be some of the best of my life.  All thanks to one soft hearted, sweet souled, toothless smiling, blue eyed, blond haired, little boy...who I still can't believe is going to be in the first grade this Fall.

Drew & I are learning to slow things down when Andrew is home.  While we want to show and do so much with him...we've realized that simply staying in one place is sometimes best for a little boy that is always on the go.  I have relished these first days with him.  He's so loving, so sweet, so smart, so curious, and I am soaking up every minute with him.  We are going to have some amazing memories that will last a lifetime...and then some. :)

Breakfast Club

With each passing month our Supper Club keeps getting better and better!  May's Supper Club theme was "Breakfast for Dinner/Pajama Party" and it was hosted by the McCoy's.  This was once again my favorite Supper Club yet, it was Carb-o-licious!

Money Bread by Kelli McCoy
Side Note:  My Mom used to make this all the time for me and my guy friends in OK.

Fruity Breakfast Pizza, also by Kelli

Protein!

Mrs. McCoy in her beautiful kitchen!

Savory Breakfast Pizza by Shanna Steed.
This has been the first dish that has ever been completely eaten at a Supper Club.
Shanna's recipe is definitely going in out Supper Club Cookbook!
My Mama's famous Cathead Biscuits

Pancakes three ways by the Hughes:  Plain, Blueberry, and Chocolate Chip!
Burning down the house, delicious! ;)

Everyone in their PJs...If it was up to me I would wear mine 24/7!

Keith & Julie!

After breakfast, we decided to work off some calories with a friendly competitive game of Twister!

We had a great time!  Definitely the most we've laughed in one night thus far.  I can't wait for the Luau at the Pease's house!

Time for Another Edition of...

I haven't blogged in a week and I have so much to catch you up on!  Supper Club, Andrea's Baby Shower, Andrew's Graduation, my Yard (which I know you're just dying to know how my hydrangeas are doing!)  But I'll have to save that for next week, I'm in the middle of packing (again) to head down to the Bay tomorrow, so I'll leave you with a few of the things I'm loving this Thursday!

This little boy, he cracks me up!

The things you can find roaming the halls of Byars Dowdy.
Dylan, Jack, and our little man.
Andrew couldn't wait to show us his classroom!

This memory...
You'll never guess what we were all thinking...no really you won't so stop trying!  LOL!

Tangent Notice:  If you look close you can see a cicada on Drew's pants.  The town was infested with these things!  What's a cicada you might ask?  Basically what we call a locust except they look like this:
Evil looking little buggers, I know.
They don't bite or sting, (at least they aren't supposed to.)

While ours look like this:
I'd much rather the Louisiana version...actually I'd much rather the Louisiana version of most things.

Okay, back to what I'm loving!

Adult Twister matches!
Yes that me (or my butt rather) and yes that's my husband at our Pajama Party Supper Club, I just couldn't let him outlast me!

And of course my hydrangeas welcomed me home again with a beautiful display!

Well That Was Random...

First, come take a walk with me in my yard.

Everyday my husband comes home and asks me the same thing, "Do-Dah!  Are my tomatoes red yet?!"  Well yesterday I could finally say, "You have an orange one!"

Pomegranate blooms

What do you spy with your little eye?

Love, Love, Love!

I can't wait until Andrew is here to pick his strawberries!

Next, I plan on spending lots of time here this summer with my boys.

Poppy & Willie's pool!

A few things that I am enjoying right now are:

Egg-cellent eggs!  Drew's new found love?  Farm fresh eggs. We went through two dozen last week! I buy them fresh from a man at work.  I never knew what we were missing!

My sis-in-laws wonderful blog!  She's pretty amazing and so are the things she makes!  You should definitely check it out: One Sweet Day

Finally, a few things I'm looking forward to!

Supper Club this Saturday: Breakfast for Supper Pajama Party!
OMG, I'm so stinkin' excited!

Next week:  ANDREW GRADUATES FROM KINDERGARTEN!!
I can't wait to see their little program.  We are so proud of him!

And the thing I am most looking forward to.....drumroll....

ANDREW COMING HOME FOR THE SUMMER!!!
That's right he'll be here on May 30th for two glorious months.
