Spring Break 2012

Spring is one of my most favorite times of the year, not just because the weather is warmer, or because of the new foliage on the trees, or because I get to play in the dirt, but mostly because Andrew is home for his two week Spring Break!  Everyone here is shocked that he is out of school for two weeks, but I have to remind them that schools in TN don't have Mardi Gras off or a week off for Easter!  So it's only fair that Spring Break is a little bit longer for my man.  But man those two weeks flew by!  Here are a few pics of what we were up to.

When Drew picked Andrew up he wasn't feeling too great and was congested as all get out.  So Saturday Andrew and Drew stayed indoors while I ran the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  Our team did great and we raise $2,600 for a great cause!  Some friends of ours invited us to a crawfish boil that night, Drew and I went back and forth about whether or not we should take Andrew out and about...but when Bud heard me mention four-wheelers and goats, it was ON!  So we threw a beanie on his head and headed over to the Smith's.

Don't you just want to bring one home?!

This little mama here was due to have babies any day.

Yum!  Best crawfish I've had all season!  Andrew isn't much on the peeling process, but he does love some crawfish tails, spicy boiled corn, and hotdogs.  (Yes we put hotdogs in our crawfish boils!)

And this ladies and gentlemen is Andrew Byron Day IV sucking a crawfish head!  You'll have to pardon the crawfish juice blurred the pic.  Andrew figured out that the juice was spicy enough to clear his sinuses and went to town!  It was pretty hilarious.

Enjoying a ride!

Meet "Crawly," of all the creatures that Andrew doesn't like, he picks up a crawfish and wants to bring it home.  This kid, I swear...

Crawly about to be released into the creek behind our house.

"Mickey Mouse! Daddy makes the coolest breakfasts-es!"

Brady came by for quite a few play dates!  In addition to Brady, it seems like all of the families around us have little boys.  So almost every afternoon they would come by to scoop Andrew up to play in the sand or the creek behind our house.  On more than one occasion I had to hose Andrew and Jax off before they could step foot or paw into the house!  He had so much fun!

Time for a little game of fetch.

A weekend in Bay St. Louis
Since Andrew will be in TN for Easter, Drew and I decided to make him (and Jax) an Easter basket from us, just to say "We're so proud of you!"

Now that's one good-lookin' kid!

Curiouser and curiouser.

For lunch on St. Patrick's Day we headed to Biloxi to "Grillin' on the Green," which is an annual BBQ cookoff.   Man we had some delicious BBQ!

We finished up just in time for the parade.

 Throw me something!

A little afternoon fishing with Poppy.

Love.

And I of course couldn't let Bud leave without dying eggs with me!

I love the McCormick Neon food coloring, our eggs turned out so bright!

 My silly man :)

We hope your Spring and Easter rocks!

Not So Bad

So thanks to my wonderful, hard working, amazing, loving, ...uh, fantastic, wonderful...did I mention amazing yet...husband, turning 30 may not be as bad as I have already convinced myself it's going to be.  Because today he booked our trip to.....wait for it.......HAWAII!!  Beaches, whales, pineapple drinks, volcanoes, luaus, crystal blue waters...turning 30 may just be my best birthday yet!

Multi Weekend Wrap-Up

So I'm a little behind on blogging...again.  This is my half-a$$ attempt at bringing you up to speed on what we've been up to!

We flew Andrew home for his long President's Day weekend, it was short and sweet but we of course had a great time!

V-Day goodies waiting for our little Valentine.

Rub-a-dub-dub...my three boys in a tub.

Along came a gully washer of a rain storm which sent the creek out of it's banks.

A Power Ranger and his dog :)

 Love that face!

Let the Sky Landers fun begin, Brady came over for a sleepover.

Of course Mama Day brought gifts and Erin brought a cake!

And Jax followed Carrie around everywhere...

 licking icing off her fingers.

 Craft time with Daddy!

Making some pretty cool wind-up robots!

He likes flying "WAY better than driving!"
I'm so thankful we have the means to make his long trips a little more bearable.

An aerial of False River.

The next weekend was a weekend spent celebrating the births of two very special girls in my life:  Miss Carrie Addis and Miss Allie!

Carrie turned 1 and had an amazing Rainbow Birthday Party!

Uncle Drew and I gave her Benny the Bull!

Her strawberry lemonade face! So stinkin' cute!

 Four generations of fine ladies!

And once again Aunt Erin with her amazing cakes!

Allie turned 2 and had a Seustastic Birthday Party!
Michelle amazes me with her creativity!  I could not stop smiling!
(Forgive the picture quality, I forgot my Rebel at home.)

I know right, pretty amazing!
I told her to box it all up and if I have any babies I am so using her decor!

A new favorite product of mine!

Bradford Pears just a bloomin' at my sister's house.

My love's other lover is back home after some time in the shop.

It's crawfish boil time 'round these parts!

Spring is sweeping in, so stand up your brooms and balance your eggs and wish those you love Happy Spring Equinox!  (As cool as it would be to think that this is only possible during a vernal equinox...it's not you can pretty much do this whenever you feel like taking the time to do it.)

And finally this weekend Andrew will be coming home for TWO WEEKS!  I love spring and I love spending Spring Break with my littlest love!  I can't wait to see what we get into on this trip home!
