Two Souls...

One heart.

On 6/5/10, (and she finally posted pictures!) my girl, my friend, my confidant became someone's wife!  That's right the girl I used to goof off with in all of my college chemistry classes, stay up late "studying" for tests with, the girl who was always there with a "Let's do it BIG!" or the "Your an idiot...but I understand.", got married...Lacey Addison became Lacey Andreotta!  Lace has always followed her heart, even when it led her across the continental US to the Windy City where one way or another she's found the love of her life- Rick.  Rick put the joy back in Lacey's heart and soul...and brought her HOME!  And for that he will always hold a special place in my heart.

Mr. and Mrs. Andreotta

I love you two and wish nothing but many long years of happiness and continuous joy!!

I carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Roaring into Kindergarten!!

When Drew and I talked to Bud on Sunday he told us, "I WAS excited about school, but now I'm not anymore."  :(  I was a little worried about our little man's transition into kindergarten, since he hasn't been in an educational setting since he was 3, but I knew that once he was there with all the other kids he was going to be just fine.

And as it turns out he was...  He only goes to school one day this week, Byars Dowdy calls it "Phase in Week 1."  On Thursday he'll find out who his teacher is and next week he'll again go for only one day, "Phase in Week 2."  Then the week of August 16th will be his first full week in kindergarten! :)

Drew and I gave him the "3rd Degree" about his day and this is what he told us:
Did you have fun at school today?  "Yes, I did have fun!"
Did you meet any new friends?  "I did, but I can't remember his name."
What was your favorite thing you did today?  "We read a story called Chica Chica Boom Boom and it was the best story ever, the letters climb up the coconut tree and then fall down.  And then I got to make a picture about the story."
Did you take a nap?  "No, you don't have to close your eyes.  You just have to lay down and be quiet."
What did you eat for lunch?  "I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich."

After we hung up Drew and I just sat there for a minute with half smiles, half frowns-bittersweet written all over our faces.  This is going to be hard to get used to, missing so much and getting the replay over the phone.  But he did great, he had fun, and he's going to be a smarty-pants just like his Daddy (and Aunt Erin!) and do brilliant things- no matter what they may be.  And that makes our hearts swell with pride and our lips curl up in smiles.

Our little Byars Dowdy Lion on his way home after his 1st day with his Chica Chica Boom Boom picture!

This is Andrew's school website:  http://www.byarsdowdy.org/  Each of the teachers have there own websites so once he finds out who his is I'll post it as well, so we call all keep up with our kindergartner's first year.

Byar's Dowdy also raises money through "Box Tops for Education" if you would like to support Andrew's school you can register at http://www.boxtops4education.com/.

Love, Lace, and Lingerie! Oh my!

Parental Advisory:  Dad you may want to skip this blog.  Love you! :)

Have I mentioned how amazing, talented, and fun my girl-friends are?  Well that is exactly what they are amazingly talented, fun people.  And I love and thank them so much for the wonderful time I had Saturday night. :)  Thanks ladies!  Y'all make my heart happy and full, my cup runneth over.

Brittany, Emily, and Erin were the "hostess with the mostest" Saturday night.  They of course wouldn't let me do a thing in preparation, so Saturday morning I slept in, worked in the yard a little, and then went for a mani-pedi.  This was the start to a fantastic day!

One of my friends, Julie Peace, does photography on the side- Be Still Photography.  Some of the pictures you will see- the ones that of course look like a professional took them- are all thanks to her and her God given gift.  Thanks so much Julie!

Britt's house was decorated in perfect harmony with the invites! :)

B, Thank you so much for opening your home to me, my family, and friends for a wonderful fun filled evening.  You personify southern hospitality at its finest!  Love you!

Pics of me and my boo, Drew.

Who also made the cake!!

Not only did the cake look fabulous it also tasted fabulous!
I'm so lucky to have my very own "Cake Boss" in the family.
Thanks Erin, you are marvelous...but you already knew that! ;)

My BF Britt...who will one day be a party planner, no doubt! :)

From 6-9 we painted with Lushes with Brushes.  The sun was blazing all day Saturday and it was still ridiculously hot at 6pm...so we "glistened" and painted...and laughed a lot!  As it turns out the "primitive" peacock on the invitation wasn't as easy to paint as we thought!

My sisters Stacie and Phyllis

Britt: a serious ar-tist! Haha!

A special thanks to everyone who came out and played a part in creating a stupendous evening of memories in preparation for one of the biggest events in my life. :)  I'm getting married!  I'm finally marrying the man I have always loved on the day I've always wanted to be married 10/10/10!

Here's to you all, here's to us, and here's to what was always meant to be!
