Punkin' Carving

While Andrew was home for his fall break we invited some friends and family over for a night of pumpkin carving, weenie roasting, and smores making!  We had a great time!

Happy Halloween everyone!

City of Brotherly Love

Here I am again playing catch up with the blogging world...and once again it's been over a month since my last post!  What's a girl to do, ya know?!  So much has happened since my last post, I don't even know where to start...I finally settled on starting with our trip to Philly and celebrating Drew's birthday.

Our trip to Philadelphia was a mix of business and pleasure...Drew's pleasure and my business.  Since I work in Treatment Services I have to keep up my DOT certification so every two years I take a refresher course in order to get re-certified.  The good thing is the classes are held in some pretty cool cities.  We had a great time, ate some amazing food, and  we were able to visit our country's past that previously we had only learned about in history classes!  We definitely recommend a trip to Philly to take in the sites that were at the forefront of our country's founding.  Here a little of what we did, saw, and ate!  Enjoy!

McGillin's Irish Pub, opened the year Lincoln was elected and has never closed!
Even during prohibition...gotta love those Irishmen!

The first City Hall built in the US

Our first REAL Philly Cheesesteaks

Birthday brunch at Sabrina's Cafe, stuffed Philly cream cheese french-toast.

Birthday dinner at the Butcher & Singer

Ralph's Mussels Red...on my top 5 list of best things I've ever eaten.
This is a 4th generation family owned Italian joint, it's the 2nd oldest Italian restaurant in the US.  The food was amazing!

Elfreth's Alley is the oldest residential street in the country.

We had a great time in Philly, it's definitely a town filled with amazing history, delicious food, and many bucket list sights!
